Rain, Rain go away

We left Detroit after a too brief visit with Julie and Henry that included a fantastic sushi dinner and  quick shopping at the bridal shop. She found her veil and we hit the road after just 24 hours with Julia. Just in time to catch up with the storm that had been in Rockford the day  before we left . All the way to the east coast, we played tag with a horrendous storm system that caused traffic to slow to 45 mph on I-80. Flash flood warnings, construction, and 4th of July traffic- but we made it to DC in one piece and with more gray hair. Had a great meal at Cantler’s- Maryland’s best crab place, and then hit DuPont Circle for an impromptu jam session, Southern Style. Today we attended the oldest African-American Catholic Church, St. Augustine’s. Say A-men! Two hour service, followed by an afternoon nap (it’s the heat!) and then great soul food for dinner. I hope my clothes still fit at the end of the week.
